2024: Hopeful, Humbled, and Grateful
To our volunteers, supporters, followers, and generous donors: As I sit down to write this letter, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.
Recapping the First Quarter of 2024
We have been quite busy over here at There’s Always Room! As we connect with more foster care agencies, we have received an increase in requests for YES bags and other clothing needs.
Looking Back and Anticipating What’s to Come
What a year it’s been for There’s Always Room! As 2023 comes to a close, I want to gratefully reflect on the ways that your support has served children in foster care this past year.
If You’re Reading This, You Can Foster!
Just because you aren’t able to become a licensed foster parent doesn’t mean you should avoid foster care and all it entails. It’s literally never too late to get started, so start fostering…today!
He Went Home Yesterday
After 18 months, he’s home - right where he wants to be, and for him I am so happy. But for us, I am sad. For the last 18 months, I’ve had three sons. Today, I have two.
“The People Who Just Foster the Babies”
It’s a common stereotype in foster care. “The people who just foster the babies.” Since fostering two infants, my perspective has definitely changed, and I want to give these people much more credit than they’re given.
And so it begins…
I started this foster closet as a foundation for making a change to the system. It’s a way to support foster parents so that they will keep fostering. It’s a way to encourage people in the community to become foster parents. And it’s a way to let the system know that we’re here for these kids, but we need change.
